THE MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

General Program

  • Who is this program for? Our program is designed for busy professionals, aged 35-65, who are fed up with alcohol's control over their lives. We welcome both men and women seeking a supportive and empowering path to lasting freedom from alcohol.

  • Is this program for people who aren't sure they're alcoholics? Absolutely! This program is perfect if you know you need a break from alcohol but don't identify with the "alcoholic" label. We help you achieve your personal goals around alcohol reduction or complete abstinence.

  • What makes your program different from AA? Our program focuses on the underlying causes of your drinking and equips you with tools to manage cravings and create a life free from alcohol dependence. We believe in a personalized approach that doesn’t require a lifetime of meetings.

Program Structure and Logistics

  • What does the program look like? We offer a hybrid approach! You'll participate in twice-weekly, 90-minute online group coaching sessions for 12 weeks, led by a personal coach with extensive experience. Additionally, you can choose to add personalized 1-on-1 coaching for extra accountability.

  • When are the group calls held? Calls are held 2x weekly, at an average of 100 minutes per call. Call #1 will be focused on a specific topic, and Call #2 will be a broader Q&A, designed for general accountability, support & sharing.

  • What if I miss one of the group calls? Don’t worry about missing out. AFP group calls will be available for on-demand playback.

  • How much does the program cost? We recognize everyone's situation is unique. We offer a group coaching option at an entry-level price of $397/month for 3 months. For those seeking more personalized support, we have Gold and Platinum VIP packages with 1-on-1 coaching included.

  • Do you offer payment plans or sliding scales? While we don't offer formal payment plans, we priced our program competitively considering the long-term financial benefits of sobriety. Many clients find they save significantly compared to their past alcohol spending. Do the math, be honest, and figure out how much you’re spending on booze every month. You might be surprised…

  • Is the program confidential? Absolutely. We prioritize your privacy. You can use a pseudonym and disable your camera during online sessions if you prefer.

Coaching Approach and Philosophy

  • What is your core philosophy? We believe in your power to overcome alcohol dependence. Our program focuses on education, mental reframing, and helping our students develop a sustainable lifestyle, free from the chains of alcohol. We'll also explore dietary changes, supplementation, and techniques like mindfulness and EDMR therapy to address cravings and emotional triggers.

  • What if I'm not ready to quit cold turkey? We understand quitting can be daunting. Our program allows you to taper down over a two week period, gradually at a totally manageable pace. This re-establishes a sense of control and self-esteem. You can totally quit drinking, if you work hard at it.

  • What are some of the biggest challenges clients face? Clients often mention mood swings, lifestyle adjustments, and navigating changing relationships during early sobriety. Our program equips you with tools to manage these challenges effectively.

Our relationship to 12-step recovery

  • Do we have a problem with AA or 12-step recovery? No. We appreciate AA’s role in the lives of millions of recovered men & women. However, 10’s of millions more fall through the cracks, failing to resonate with the idea of a “lifetime membership” to Alcoholics Anonymous.

  • How does AFP differ from a 12-step recovery program? There are bits and pieces of helpful concept from 12-step programs integrated here. We do several things differently, though.
    1) NO LIFETIME OF MEETINGS
    2) NO SELF-IDENTIFYING AS A FOREVER ALCOHOLIC
    3) NO MORE IGNORING DIET, SUPPLEMENTS & LIFESTYLE

  • Can I work The Alcohol Freedom Process & AA at the same time?
Absolutely, yes. The Alcohol Freedom Process is not designed to replace anyone’s AA or 12-step programs. Simply put, we will teach you what the other programs don’t teach. We will complete your recovery process in ways that won’t have you relying on meetings for the rest of your life.

  • Where does AA fall short? The Rockefeller Foundation’s early support of AA ended up being a clandestine take-over, eliminating any teaching of nutrition or supplementation for the treatment of alcoholism. In our opinion, not teaching addicts this critical information eventually leads to the addict relapsing. Relapse is good for AA - it keeps the chairs full - but is bad for people looking for true freedom from alcohol.

    Success Stories and Additional Information

  • What do AFP students say after going through the process?

    We often hear feedback like…

  • "This was far easier than I imagined"

  • "This program helped me regain control"

  • "You taught me how to be self-aware of my own drinking"

  • “As it turns out, it was old stuff from my past that making me want to drink”

  • "I lost 15 pounds!"

  • What are some common misconceptions about sobriety coaching? Many people believe AA is the only option, or that lifelong meetings are necessary. Our program offers an effective alternative with a focus on long-term strategies and self-empowerment.

TESTIMONIALS

  • "It’s now almost sixteen months later, with no desire to drink..."

“I think it’s due to several things. First, the “no drama” process of quitting is huge. Coach stressed that we weren’t going to quit, we were going to taper down. Then, some longer calls + quick pep talks with Coach allowed me to talk about my relationship with alcohol and my life. I felt like the support was there.”

    — RL, San Diego CA

  • "I REALLY needed someone to listen to me."

“I came to Coach in dire need of someone help me take stock of what was important. More than that, I needed someone to help me lay out an orderly approach to getting back on track.

After 4 months, and many tough (but loving) conversations later, I am substance-free, my business is booming, and my marriage is very different.”

    — KC, Raleigh, NC

  • "I KNEW I COULD QUIT, i just needed help..."

“I didn’t want to recover in public, and I cringed at the thought of meetings. I just neded a guide and someone to keep me accountable.

Spending 5 months with Coach helped me look at my cannabis habit and diet as well as the drinking problem.

The funniest part was that once I got rid of the wine, everything else in my life started changing.”

    — MA, Louisville KY

  • "In a town known for getting drunk, staying sober was nearly impossible. .."

“I would get anywhere from a few days to a few years, but always relapsed. Coach helped me look at my drinking in a new light.

The supplements he suggested squashed the mood swings that kept me going back to drinking. In just a few months, we looked at nearly all areas of my life, which I never expected.”
